Tanuj (☆-1): Would it be too rash to say that Munch's treatment of the dead mother (the colors, or the lack of them; the black hair as opposed to the child's blonde; and the general blurriness contrasted with the sharp drawing), although deliberate and also meaningful, weakens the painting. That her eyes are open is a superb touch!
